Experience

I have been practicing law since 2004 when I was admitted to the Utah Bar.  I served 6 years on active duty as an Air Force JAG attorney and have worked as a JAG attorney in the Air Force Reserve since 2010.  My Air Force work has taken me around the U.S. and to Japan, Guantanamo Bay Cuba, Guam and South Korea.  In early 2011, I opened this law practice in Cedar City because my wife and I want to raise our family here in Southern Utah.

I have volunteer experience with Boy Scouts of America, the Utah Association for Justice, the Freedom Festival in Provo, and the Family Support Center in Cedar City.

My Approach

I'm a solo practitioner because it allows flexibility and reduced costs, which helps my clients.  I believe in competence, communication, zealous representation and wise case evaluation.  By "zealous representation" I mean developing and gathering evidence, being thorough in the discovery process, and litigating when appropriate.  By "wise resolution" I mean carefully considering all reasonable alternatives.  Sometimes it is best to litigate and sometimes it is best to compromise and settle--it all depends on the facts and evidence.  And experience helps me know what facts and evidence are important.
